Why only the major CAD components are needed

- [Instructor] Only the major CAD components are needed when you take an AutoCAD 2D drawing into 3D Studio Max. So, basically, all we really need is the structure, the openings in that structure, for things like doors and windows. And you might, perhaps, bring in some polylines that represent doors and windows, so that you can then extrude those into 3D solids, in the scene, in 3D Studio Max. So, in the Layers Panel in the Home Tab on the Ribbon, and there's "A-SERV-SETTINGOUT". Just switch that layer off, you don't need it, like so. You could potentially freeze it, if you want to, as well. Notice, you can have a layer off and have a layer frozen.
