- [Instructor] Welcome to another AutoCAD tip and trick for the day. What we're going to look at now is a really nice new feature in the later versions of AutoCAD that involves annotation and center lines, placing center marks and center lines in your AutoCAD drawings. We've got a new drawing for you. It's centerlines.dwg and you can see we've got a circle and a rectangle and that's it. If you go into your layers panel on the home tab on the ribbon, and go to layer properties, you'll see there in the layer properties manager that we do have some layers. We've got the objects layer that the circle and the rectangle are drawn on. We've also got a center lines layer, which is the current drafting layer. It's using a color 10 and a line type of center. Remember that for when we come back to the center lines in a moment. Close your layer properties manager and make sure that center lines is the current drafting layer.
