- [Instructor] Welcome to another AutoCAD tip and trick. What we're going to look at now is the PDFSHXTEXT command, and yes that is difficult to say when you're recording a video, for you guys to learn how to use that command in an AutoCAD tip and trick. Now, the reason that we have the PDFSHXTEXT command, is it allows us to convert .shx text from an imported PDF in an AutoCAD .dwg drawing file. Now the reason we have that there is because, when that .shx text comes in with a PDF into a drawing, it's automatically converted into AutoCAD entities such as lines, arcs, circles, polylines, and so on, it's not a text annotation entity, so the PDFSHXTEXT command converts it to regular AutoCAD text. Now, we've got a new drawing for you ready to go, which is importPDF.dwg. You can download that from the website, and obviously use it accordingly to follow along with this tips and tricks video.
