The new interface in AutoCAD 2020

- [Instructor] A lot of applications now are changing their interface to basically assist you with your eyes and eye strain where you're staring at a screen a lot of the time. A lot of social media is going down this route for example Twitter now has a dark mode, which allows you to have a darker screen when perhaps you might be looking at your phone at nighttime rather than during the day. AutoCAD has also gone down that route as well. AutoCAD 2020 has this new user interface and it's dark as you can see on the screen, so you've got a dark background in the drawing area, you've got a dark background in the ribbon. But what's also happened in the new AutoCAD 2020 interface is the icons have been updated. They're much cleaner and they're much sharper in the ribbon they're also quite colorful, they stand out now on the ribbon as well. So you'll notice for example over in the draw panel here now you've got a line but you can also see the little blue endpoints of the line and the same with the polygon, the circle, you can see they've all got those little blue dots on them that make them stand out on the dark background. If we jump across the tabs on the ribbon you can see you've got nice colors, you've got the little pencil with the eraser on the end indicating that you're editing something, if I go to annotate again you can see the colors and the parametrics which are very colorful over here in the geometric constraints. And as I work my way across you can see those icons are much much more obvious on the dark background. Now I'm just going to jump back to the home tab there. Now you may not be using the latest and greatest AutoCAD, but I've put this video in specifically just so you're aware of the changes in the interface, just so when you open up a video you don't think to yourself oh my goodness that looks totally different to my particular version of AutoCAD. Yes the interface is different but the functionality pretty much remains the same, especially for what we're doing with our advanced dynamic blocks in this course. So don't be afraid of the interface in the videos. It may be different to your particular version of AutoCAD.
