Creating a project

- As I've mentioned before, creating a project is the first and most important step in having a workable model set in BIM 360 GLUE. What I'd like to do now is just jump in and start a brand new project. So, let's start by signing in. And we're off. Now, once we get started we're going to be at the Csos Projects or whatever your root directory is. Notice also, that we're backed all the way out to Csos. You'll start here every time you open up Autodesk BIM 360 Glue. So, to start a new project, what I want to do is come over to my little picture here. I'm going to hover over it and I'm going to get some choices. The choice we want to go to is Admin. So go ahead and click on Admin. Now, in Admin we have a few projects, the same projects we saw before. Again, you may not have any. I'm going to go through a couple choices first. The first thing I'm going to do is click on my top choice, which is the Dashboard. Since I'm an administrator, I can see the global status of my site. I can see all the members I have allocated, the status of the members, Members by Project, Activated Members by Access Level. I'm going to go now to Users, All Members, and we can see all the members that we have in our site. If you want to invite someone to a project that's not a member, that's fine. Then we're going to go down to Host Admins, and that's what we are. We can add a Host Admin, but it's important to know that a Host Admin needs to exist before we can start a project. I'm going to click on the All Projects. And under All Projects, I'm going to click on Create. Now, there's a couple things to look at here, but not too much. For the project name, I'm going to call it Lynda.com for ease. The Project Value, we're going to keep this empty and this is actually U.S. Dollars. We can click the drop down and we can use other currencies. Now for Project Admins, I'm going to click into here and I'm going to add myself as a Project Admin. I don't know who this Eric W. guy is, but I might invite him to the project later. But for now I want to be a Host Admin. Once I'm selected as a Host Admin, I can simply click on Add. Now if I hover over me, we'll see I'm in there, email, I'm a Host Admin, and I can simply delete me if I want. Now that I'm in there, I can click Create. "1 person has been invited to Lynda.com as project admin." Now that I'm in there, I can go down to Lynda.com and hover over it. Notice I can manage project members, I can add it to project, or I can delete it. I'm going to click on manage project members. And I'm back in. I can add another project member. I can get rid of a project member. I'm going to go back to My Projects up here. I'm going to scroll down to Lynda.com. Notice now I can see that I've had activity, if I've had markups or views created. I'm going to go back into Lynda.com and we see nothing's been created. I can go to my separate Merged Models, Individual Models, and I can come down to Members and click this. And we're right back where we started. Now if we close out of this dialog, sometimes you have to regenerate it by clicking on Csos. Once we regenerate it, we'll see that Lynda.com is in there. And again we can select Lynda.com. And this is where we can start adding Merged Models. We can Upload models. Now we have somewhere to put our models. Really that's all there is to creating a project. Obviously we have a lot to put into here. So if you made your own project or if you're using Lynda.com, that's fine. I encourage you to use your own project and your own models. But you can use Lynda.com if you want to follow along as well.
