- [Instructor] One of the tools that Microsoft offers that can make migration much easier is the Azure migration service. Actually the Azure migration service is more a collection of tools that help you to assess your current workloads. That is your virtual machines, physical machines, databases and web apps and helps you to prepare them for migration. Once you've assessed your workloads they can even perform the actual migration by replicating resources in Azure. It's important to note however that this is following the rehost lift and shift pattern. So migrating resources with Azure migrate is a two-step process. Firstly, you have to assess the resources that you want to migrate. The assessment stage checks your on-premise assets to ensure that they're suitable for running in Azure.
