Natural Language Processing or NLP as we have seen before, is the part of AI that interprets and understands both written and spoken language. Microsoft has several Cognitive Services specifically to those needs, as you can see here. Some are related to speech, some are related to language and there's a lot of interaction between them for easier development. Let's start by talking about the speech technologies. The Microsoft speech API's are quite mature, as they rely on models already used by Microsoft for many years on tools such as Skype, Xbox, and Cortana. They are Low latency on the sub second level after the last byte is received.
