- [Instructor] Now that our data was ingested, transformed and staged, it's time to start using Analytical Tools to obtain valuable insights. Let's just start with Databricks which is quickly becoming one of the most important analytics tools in Azure. Azure Databricks is an advanced analytics and machine learning platform based on Apache Spark which is a parallel processing engine for large scale analytics. Spark is designed to handle massive amounts of data by distributing the work across a cluster of computers, which considerably reduces the time needed to complete the analysis. Databricks uses a collaborative workspace that allows data engineers, data scientists and business analysts to work together. It uses the concept of notebooks, which is a web based mix of runnable code, visualizations and text. The code runs in a series of steps called cells.
