- BATTERY can either run as a stand-alone version or as a plug-in which requires your DAW. For this course we're gonna use the plug-in version since most people will be using it in this environment. Since this is an up and running course I won't be going over every single feature. Instead, I'm gonna cover the basics so that you can start making beats as quickly as possible. So let's get acquainted with the different sections of BATTERY's interface here. Let's start with the Navigation bar here at the top. First you'll notice this Magnifying Glass. Click this to open and close the Sidebar to the left here. Which I'll cover in more depth in a couple of minutes. Pressing this button here brings up a menu. The first is File. This is where you can create a new kit from scratch, load a kit, and save a kit you've created. Below that is Edit where you can edit BATTERY's preferences. The next option is Cell Matrix.
