Audio effects as inserts
- [Instructor] Let's play with some insert effects. So we talked about the simple nuts and bolts type of mixing things: volume, pan, EQ, compression. Or sometimes not compression, don't forget about that. Let's loop our section here and let's grab our polysynth. (low techno music) Okay, so this is a really interesting sound. I'm going to leave that alone for the moment. Let's go over to the lead. (low techno music) All right, so that's nice. I'm generating ideas, I'm using the idea generator. So I'm going to go over to my plugins here. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to add some cool insert effects. Now, when you're using insert effects, I want you to think of it in terms of the character of the sound. Insert effects can do a lot of different things, but there are also things that you might want to do on a send effect. Now, this particular sound, it sounds really nice. I would like to warm it up a little bit.…
