From the course: 3D Tracking and Fusion Compositing

Welcome

- Hi, this is Brian Morris. Welcome to 3D Tracking and Fusion Compositing. In this course, we'll be going through the process of integrating CG renders into live action plates for several shots at the same time. Using the cameras we set up in the course SynthEyes Tracking with Survey Data, we will be able to make our workflow more efficient by setting up our 3D scene once, and using it for all of our shots. We will start by exporting out our cameras to Maya and Fusion, using the understory workflow from SynthEyes. Then we'll go through the entire process in Maya, setting up our windows, adding textures, lighting our scene and rendering out a multi-pass render. We will also look into how we can use our Matchmove cameras to help speed up our workflow in Maya. Next, we will go into Fusion and composite our multi-pass renders into the live action plate, so that everything matches with the original plate. We will look at some techniques we can use to speed up our workflow by finishing one shot and using that shot to set up the other shots. And just when we thought we were done, we'll deal with a client change to the 3D and how we can do a fix using Fusion's 3D system and our Matchmove cameras without the need to go back to Maya and do another render. By the end of this course, you'll have a deeper understanding of how to set up a fluid workflow between Maya and Fusion. So let's get started.
