Blocking out the environment

- [Voiceover] In the preceding movie, we created this cube object which represents the basis for our environment. Of course, it's not the finished article and doesn't resemble the interior environment we want to create just yet, but it is the beginning. Now, to indicate that this is an environment, I want to make sure the object is selected. And from the Outliner panel, you can see that this object is called Cube, and that name is not meaningful, as I mentioned in a previous movie, it's a good idea to get into the habit of naming objects meaningfully. So in this case, I want to change the name of this object from cube to ENV for environment. Now, again, I could rename this by double-clicking on the cube from the Outliner panel. That's not the only way that you can go, of course, you can go back here to the 3D view-port, press n to display the n panel, and if I scroll down inside the n panel, you'll see under the Item field that we can also rename the object from here, too.
