From the course: Blender and Substance Painter: Architectural Visualization

Course goals

- [Instructor] Welcome to Scene Creation with Blender and Substance Painter. I'm Darrin Lile, a Blender Foundation Certified Trainer. And in this course, we will create this scene of a coworking space. We'll go over Blender's modeling tool set, as we use blueprints of the space to build up the walls, doors and windows. And then, we will use reference images to help us model each piece of the furniture in the rooms. We'll go over how to UV map each object and how to prepare each one for export into substance painter, as an FBX file, and in substance painter, we'll create realistic PBR textures for our models, and you'll learn how to best set up those textures for use in Blender. Now after we add the textures in Blender, here in the shading tab, we will begin working on the lighting. We'll add spotlights and aerial lights to the scene. And we'll render this scene out using both, Blenders cycle's render engine and the new Eevee render engine. And in doing this, I think you'll see the differences and the benefits of both. Now, this is an introductory course, and it does assume at least a little knowledge of Blender. I've tried to give a broad overview of Blender in this course and how it can work with substance painter, to give you great results in a scene like this. But there's always more to learn. And my goal with this course is to give you a solid foundation that you can build upon, in your learning journey. All the project files are available for download. So at any point in any video, you can look at the specific scene file, that I'm working on. And all the reference images are here too. So, you can work from the same references that I am. I'm looking forward to getting started and I hope you are too. In the next video, let's take a look at the reference images and bring the office blueprints into Blender.
