- [Instructor] Before we can begin animating our creature, we need to attach a rig to it or an armature, it's really one and the same name. You can think of a rig or armature as the series of bones or joints that fit inside of the creature and allow it to move. They're going to be manipulating the faces and vertices and giving this illusion that the creature's actually alive. The first thing we need to do though, is scale everything correctly. In this file, I've gone ahead and just copied and pasted the fish in a fish bowl and all of it into one scene. If you'd like to copy and paste objects yourself, you can just come up to object, make sure you have something selected and then just copy it and paste it into different blender files. Right away, you can see one big issue. Our fish is not going to fit in to this fish tank. Now it's true you could just rig the fish as it is and scale the rig. But I always like to…
