Creating the lift cylinders
- [Instructor] Let's now turn our attention to these hydraulic lift cylinders that are in a few different places on the vehicle. There's one here, and there's a couple up front. There's also one, let's go to the side view here, there's also one right in here, right back here. And what I'm thinking is, if we create one, maybe we can then just duplicate it and use it for the others. Let's give that a try. So I'll move the cursor right here, and I'll go ahead and create a Cylinder here. And for this, I think I'm going to use Subdivision Surfaces because it has such a nice curved shape to it. I think I'm going to use Subdivision Surfaces for this instead of just using the Smooth shading over here and beveling. So since I'm going to use the Subdivision Surface modifier, I don't think I need quite as many sides to this. So maybe we'll just take this down to 12 sides. We could also take the Radius down quite a bit, maybe to .2, and the Depth as well, to .2. In addition, let's change the Cap…
