- [Instructor] Now let's finally take a look at creating the tire treads here on the tires. What let's do is first of all just take one of these tires and let's move it to a new layer. So, I'll select these and recall that we combined these two together and in addition, we duplicated and mirrored them over using this tool down here. Now, I'm just going to grab this one tire, so I'll tab into edit mode and I'll hover one of the faces and I'll press the L key. And now to separate this selection out as it's own object I'll just press the P key and then choose separate by selection. Now that's it's own object, I can select that and move it. Oh, let's move it to layer three. M3. And there it goes. Let's go over and take a look. Now that we have it here, let's add a subdivision surface modifier. And let's take the views up to two and we'll turn on smooth shading. The pivot point is at the center of the grid. Let's move that or the origin to the geometry. Let's also move the 3D cursor to…
