Eevee vs. cycles

- [Instructor] In this video, I want to cover some of the big differences between Blender's two main render engines, Eevee and Cycles. Now for the most part, they actually work really well hand in hand. In the last video, we talked about lighting, and we switched over to the material render button right here, which you can easily access by hitting the Z key on your keyboard. In material preview, you're basically using Eevee to see what the scene would look like. Now for the most part, Eevee actually looks pretty decent, but it is missing a few things that make Cycles really awesome, and that is namely ray tracing. The moment I flip on my Cycles render tab, I can hide these two little areas right here, you can see how ray tracing really makes things look beautiful. I'm getting that backlight curving around. You can see some of the refraction happening on the fish. And the reflections just look really great inside…
