FBX animation
- [Instructor] There are times when you want to send animation from one program to another, and Alembic just won't cut it. What if you wanted to send all of your joints or the rig? What if you wanted to put your animation into a game engine? Alembic won't help us here. But, if we can create a simplified FK rig and bake to it, FBX will help us. Let me show you. Suppose you had a very complicated rig inside of Maya or in Blender that had all of these cool features and face shapes and blend shapes, and it could do all of this amazing stuff. Well, if you tried to export this out from one program to another, you might get something that looks a lot like this. I took our rig and exported it out as an FBX and put it right back into Blender, and I got this disaster. And even if you could understand and navigate this entire thing, it doesn't really save all of the information that we need because Blender uses a lot of fancy things like constraints and mesh deform cages that FBX just doesn't…
