- [Instructor] The next phase of the layout process is character creation and blocking. In an animation pipeline, you want to get your characters into your scene as soon as possible so you can see if your sets, props, and ideas will work. For our part of the pipeline, we're going to look at how to quickly create these characters using two sets of tools, the Autodesk Character Generator from Maya and the Manuel Bastioni LAB from Blender. Now if you're interested in creating your own characters, I recommend you watch the Sculpting a Creature with Zbrush and Photoshop course by Rayce Bird. It's on the online training library. Okay, so let's switch to the Autodesk Character Generator. Now this is just a free website, charactergenerator.autodesk.com, and you need an Autodesk account to begin.
