Modeling the operator cab
- [Instructor] As we work on the cab I think we should try another form of smoothing. We've been using the smooth shading over here and that works well so far, but I think this has a lot of almost organic curves to it. Both at the top here and along the inner frame of the cab, right in here. So, for those kinds of curves, I think let's use the subdivision surface modifier. We'll combine that with the smooth shading to get a nice, as I said, almost organic curve to it. So, let's begin with creating the base shape of the cab. Let's first go to the side view and let's take a look at it. I'm going to go to a brand new layer here, maybe layer four, and what let's do is just create a cube and place it in there and mold it to the basic shape. So, I'll just click here to move the cursor, press shift A, and let's create a cube. I'll hit the Z key to go to wire frame and scale it down a bit. I'm going to tab into edit mode and go to face mode and I'll just grab a couple faces and move them…
