Painting a detail layer
- [Voiceover] In this movie I want to get started painting the details onto the Diffuse Details layer for our environment here. To do this I want to make sure that texture paint mode is activated, and it is. In addition I want to make sure that we deactivate Face Selection Masking, so that we are able to paint on all of the faces of the model if we need to. I want to switch to the Slots panel and make sure that the Diffuse Detail layer is selected in the Available Paint Slot. You can see that when that layer is selected, I can see its transparent pixels here inside the UV/Image Editor. In addition, I want to make sure that the Blend Mode for this layer is set to Multiply, so that the brush strokes we apply are blended with the pixels on the layers beneath. Now I'm gonna switch to the Tools panel to configure the brush that we're going to be using here. So for example, we have the texture draw brush.
