- When working on a project of this kind where we're going for realism, scene scale and proportion is very important. Blender isn't an engineering program but it does have several tools that can help us establish a proper scale for our scene. If we come over here to our Scene panel, we can see that we have some selections for our units of measure. By default, the Blender units don't actually represent anything except units inside Blender. However, they do correspond very closely to the metric system of measure. You can see that if we select the cube in the Scene and switch the Units of measure from None to Metric, nothing really changes in the transform area of the properties panel. The dimensions of the cube simply change from two Blender units to two meters. But if we change to the Imperial system of measure, the dimensions of the cube change to 6.5 feet.
