Weight painting the head
- [Instructor] Well, I've got the weight painting for the fingers pretty well in hand, as it were. One thing I wanted to mention was the Smooth Tool. Now, when we've been painting each of these joints, we've been getting a fairly sharp edge here to our weight. Using the paint pallette has given us this little bit of fall-off, but that isn't a whole lot. We can go in and add .25 or .50 weights on up into the next joint to kind of increase the gradient here, but an easier way to do that is with the Smooth Tool. Lets scroll down here and you notice that the Smooth Tool is grayed out, and the reason why that is is because as you can see it says that the Vertex Select needs to be enabled in Weight Paint mode. So, where that is is right here. We can turn on Vertex selection and we get all of these dots in the view that correspond to all the vertices of our model.
