Developing an approach

- Bluebeam is made to handle large sets of large format documents. Now this is really important on a construction project, because we typically deal with large sets of construction drawings. Now these drawings contain a lot of pages and a lot of information. When we convert to a digital format, this can translate to very large files that render slowly, and they're really difficult to navigate. And quite frankly, I think this has always been one of the challenges that we face trying to replace paper plans with digital drawings in the field. Now the nice thing is that at this point in time the architects and engineers that actually create these original drawings are, for the most part, way ahead of us. It's very rare these days to see a set of construction plans that's been drawn by hand. So the fact that the original drawings typically already exist as digital documents or CAD files should make it much easier to begin working in a digital format out in the field.
