- [Jim] Welcome back to Bluebeam Tips and Tricks. In an earlier episode, I showed you how to use your digital id to certify a document, locking it's contents and preventing any editing. Now certifying a document also prevents many other things, including combining the document with other documents, adding or extracting pages, or, depending on the restrictions imposed when the certification was applied, it can even restrict the ability to add markups. Now depending on your document and what you plan on doing with it, this could really limit it's usefulness. So for example, if the document's a set of construction drawings that have been signed, sealed and certified, and I'm the general contractor, that really limits my ability to do things like split the document into pages and create sets that I can use during construction.
