- [Instructor] Hi, Jim Rogers here, back again to bring you another episode of my weekly series on issues facing the construction industry. In the last episode, I discussed the importance of tracking near-miss incidents in order to improve safety in the construction industry. I introduced the term leading indicators and used that to describe this near-miss data. Most of the last segment really focused on the use of this leading indicator data to help prevent safety incidents like injuries from occurring. I've also stated in past episodes and in several of my other courses that safety, quality, and productivity are inextricably linked, and that when one of those elements is neglected, the others will suffer. This week I want to take the opportunity to explain that position. First of all, there are studies that back my position.
