What you need to know - Bluebeam Tutorial

- Before we jump into the course, let's take a quick look at a few things to help you get started. First, since we already have several Bluebeam courses published here in our online library, this course will focus on features and methods that are unique to the iPad version of Bluebeam Revu. The desktop versions of Bluebeam Revu contain big feature sets and tools that allow you to set up and process digital drawings, set up Cloud storage, initiate sharing and collaboration sessions, create custom markups, and even perform complete quantity take offs. The iPad app is streamlined for the field. It can be used as an extension of the desktop version if you have that, but it can also be used on it's own as a simple and easy way for anyone to use digital construction drawings on the job site. If you want to follow along on your iPad, you will need the iPad version of Bluebeam Revu, which is available in the app store. Please be aware, there are two versions of the Bluebeam software available for the iPad. There is View, which is the free view only version of the app that allows you to open and view your drawings. Then there is the paid version of the app, which is called Bluebeam Revu, and that's what I'll be using in this course. This Revu app contains the ability to mark up those drawings and take measurements. So if you want to follow along and have access to all the features I'll demonstrate in this course, you will need that paid version of the Bluebeam Revu app. Also, you should know that this app is optimized to take advantage of the screen space on the iPad. So it's not available for the iPhone. Like I said, for those of you that have used any of the desktop versions of Bluebeam Revu, there are differences between this iPad app and the desktop software. If you want to see a comparison of the features between those two versions, you can check out the comparison chart on Bluebeam's websit at the address shown on your screen. What you'll see is that this app contains all the features that you need to do everything you could do in the field with paper drawings, on your iPad instead, ditching that big roll of paper for something that's much easier to carry.
