- [Instructor] So far in this tutorial, we've been building your website locally. In other words, it works on your computer, but no one else can see it yet. So how do we allow others to see what you've built? First, we have to put your files up onto a hosting site. Hosting sites will store your local website files online for you. Then, we connect those files to a domain name. What we'll be doing in this video is setting you up with a GitHub account and downloading their desktop application. GitHub as an open source developer community site that's based around a version control tool called Git. All of that's not so important for our purposes, but we are going to be using their web hosting feature. Their desktop application is what we'll be using to upload and maintain your online website files. So go ahead and enter github.com into your browser's address bar and then fill out the front page form to register for an account.…
