Batch renaming files on Windows

- Let's go ahead and rename a bunch of images inside of the Windows operating system. This is a straightforward task, and it's built in at the OS level. What we need to do is navigate to a series of images. I'll go here to the exercise file folder, and we'll simply choose Native Batch Rename. From the View menu, you're going to watch it to choose to view this as details. This'll show you a nice list. Now it's going to build that and load in the metadata. Choose Select All, then go over to the home area and click Rename. You'll see what it does, is it selects the first image. I can call this Lizard and press Return, and you see that it automatically renames all the images and adds a numeric extension at the end. Now, this ability to batch rename is slightly limited. You don't have some of the more advanced options that you saw in the Mac OS, but it does work. And it is an easy way to select images and quickly give them a…
