- Now, we've already looked at some cross-platform tools, but let's look at one that's just available for Windows, IrfanView. What I can do is open it up and it has a simple command. Just go to the File menu and you'll see the ability to batch convert or rename. This is the sort of thing that you wish was built into the Windows operating system. It looks native. It's got all the commands you need and it's free. Why it's not built in, I don't know. Let's go ahead and choose a few properties here. So to start, we need to tell it where to look. I'll go in here and take a look at my quick access and I'm going to go to the downloads folder and my exercise files. This allows me to select a batch that I want to process. Now, you'll notice that it's only going to work with certain types of files. If you come here and click though, you can tell it to work with all files and it will be a little bit broader in what it can accept.…
