- [Voiceover] So in this movie, I'm going to go into a couple of examples of real life opportunities for translation to figure out math problems. So let's say last year I weighed 205 pounds. And this year I weigh 185 pounds. And I want it to figure out my current weight is what percent less than my weight last year. So, what percent did I lose basically? Notice I just used the phrase "what percent less than". So that's going to signify that we're going to use our percent change formula, so I'll write that down for you. Okay. So I'm just going to use my formula to figure this out. The difference between my two weights looks like it's 20 pounds, so that's our difference. And the original is 205 because that's what I was. So it'll be 20 divided by 205 times 100. And if I put that in my calculator, I end up with about .1 times 100, which turns into about 10 percent. So, I'll give you another example. Let's say somebody said, "80 is what percent greater than 45?" So I'll write it out for…
