- Running an onboarding program requires a lot of coordination. You need to identify the various stages, decide who needs to be involved, and manage the entire process. We'll focus on defining your onboarding program over the next few videos. In this video, we'll start by identifying the key stages. Employee onboarding can have different meanings for different people. A recruiter might say it's the process of hiring new employees. A human resources coordinator might say it's new employee orientation. A trainer might say it's new hire training. And an operations manager might say it's getting a new hire to perform at a high level. Onboarding is really all of these things. A good program is a carefully orchestrated process that consists of five key stages. Prehire is the first stage.
