- There are very simple movements and exercises that you can do that will help you work with your respiratory system, your breathing mechanism, in a way that it will work efficiently. It will support you in all your activities. It will calm you. It will enliven you. It will revitalize you. We have trillions of cells and every cell needs oxygen. And if the body doesn't get the full complement, it's going to decide which system should get it first. And certain systems will be left short. That's usually systems that make us tense and tight and tired. So by doing these exercises, you will have redeveloped your diaphragm so it can serve you in all circumstances, under tension, when you're relaxed, when you're sleeping.
