- You've done a great job recruiting and hiring in top talent. You've onboarded them and now it's time to measure productivity and growth. Here are some key metrics to use. Absence rate tracks the percentage of workers who are absent in a given timeframe. Choose your time period and divide the total number of days where employees were absent by the number of employees. If last quarter they were 15 days where at least one person was absent and you have 100 employees, your absence rate is 15%. That's a little high and indicates you need to do some digging to understand why. You can also look at absence rate per manager by using the same formula for each manager individually. Other metrics are numbers of errors by each employee, number of units produced, number of sales, how often customers buy twice or more, or handling time for customers.
