- Until recently, most HRIS programs stayed away from adding performance management modules. That function was being managed by programs like Performance Pro, Success Factors, and Halogen, to name a few. It does not surprise me that these programs are morphing towards one another, meaning the HRIS programs are adding performance management features and performance management programs are adding traditional HRIS features. Unlike payroll, there are dozens of different ways to manage performance. As with compensation management, the performance management module must work with your performance approach and not dictate it. If you're using traditional one to five performance grading approach, management by objectives, key performance indicators, or OKRs, you have to configure those parameters into the program.
