What are NDAs?

- Nondisclosure agreements, or NDAs for short are among the first legal documents that most creatives end up dealing with. Chances are you've been asked to keep a secret before, and you might have kept your lips locked out of respect for whoever passed along the private information. A confidentiality agreement, also called a nondisclosure agreement takes this notion of keeping a secret further. This contract creates a legal obligation to privacy, and compels those who agree to keep any specified information top secret or secured. Nondisclosure agreements are everywhere in the industry. There are a whole host of reasons for requiring an NDA. The project is secret, or the PR folks have mandated that it shouldn't be disclosed. You may have access to technical, and/or proprietary data. And to make sure that when The Force suddenly shows up on Pirate Bay, prior to theatrical release the powers that be have someone to sue.
