- Now that you've decided what papers and information to keep and for how long using your paper policy worksheet, you can determine where to store them. Just like the previous decisions, your choices will depend on the type of information. Once you decide where each paper will be stored, write it in a storage column of your paper policy. Even though we're working on a paperless system, there will be some physical papers that come into your space which you'll need to keep in their original form. Let's look at some options for storing the few physical papers that you'll need to keep. Physical papers can be stored in your action file which is discussed in a later movie, your active file drawer, your archive file cabinet, or in a secured location such as a fire and waterproof box or safe deposit box.
