Measure simplification results

- Six months from now, how will you know that your simplification efforts are actually working? By connecting each of your simplification goals to a specific metric. This enables you and your organization to measure the results of simplification. To get started, answer the following questions to come up with three to five simplification goals. In which areas of our business will simplification have the biggest impact? Which behaviors in our organization need to change? Which simplification behaviors do we want to have happen every day? What types of results will indicate that we have achieved our simplification goals? Now that you have identified your goals, let's decide on three to five metrics to correspond to those goals. For example, if one of your goals is to finalize our annual strategic plan more quickly, one of your metrics could be, decrease the number of weeks spent drafting the strategic plan.
