Organizing and naming virtual files

- Your virtual files can be organized much like your paper files in your file cabinet. On a PC, the main program for storing your files is Windows Explorer. For Mac, it's Finder. Your cloud storage options, which I talk about later in this chapter, also work based on the same principles. You have main file folders, which contain subfolders. And then these subfolders hold your individual files. I'll use Windows Explorer as an example. Much like your home filing cabinet, you start with main folders made up of broad categories. Categories such as Personal and Work may be your first level of folders. Your next level of subfolders is where the category gets narrower. In this example, in the Personal folder, there are the folders Finance, Health and Hobbies. Each next level of subfolders contains more narrow categories than the folder that contains it.
