- Companies make changes all the time. The challenge is, human beings are neurologically hardwired to resist change. Change is uncertain, and according to our brains, potentially dangerous. But most workplace changes, however, aren't as dangerous as our brains might like us to think. No matter how big the change is, the way you manage it will likely follow this path. When presented with a change, your first decision is to determine where you stand. [Instructor] As a rule of thumb, unless there are huge flaws, your best bet is to support changes brought by senior leadership. Even if the change has some small potential errors, your public support at the beginning, will create enthusiasm. Later, you can raise those smaller issues at the right time and with the appropriate party. Let's be clear. As an informal leader, raising potential issues doesn't mean griping at the water cooler about how much work this is going…
