Allyship actions
- Just because we know the right things to do, doesn't mean it's always easy to do them. You might be feeling overwhelmed right now on how to actually start being a better ally, even though you know it's important. In this lesson, I'll give you a few clear actions you can do today to start becoming the ally you know you want to be. First, recognize that allyship is a lifelong process of building trusting relationships, keeping a growth mindset, acknowledging your mistakes, and constantly working to better your approach and educate yourself. So get defensive, but listen, learn, and iterate. There is always more you can do. Next, start intentionally consuming different media, incorporating different podcasts, shows, books, or movies where the people involved have different identities than you.
