- An obvious key for building anti-racist workplaces is developing environments that are racially diverse. While organizations may have diversity officers and committees that focus in this area, which is great, it's important to ensure these activities are targeted and nuanced to focus on your specific goals. Make sure you're tracking the right metrics. You may have a goal focused on people of color broadly, but not have sufficient focus on specific racial groups that might be particularly underrepresented or particular areas of the business or hierarchical levels where people of color are underrepresented. It's also important to move beyond the top numbers to encourage real inclusion and to avoid tokenism.
