- So that is the six step process for influencing and persuading somebody. And I just want you to go back over those steps now, thinking about your real example that you've got and just think, how would you apply the six steps? So, first of all, very clearly, what is your objective in your situation? Maybe you're unhappy, maybe you want something done, but very clearly, what exactly do you want done? What's your objective? Next, have you built up a good enough relationship with the person? And which relationship building skills do you think you could be better at generally? Which skills are you going to work on so you can be more relatable with everybody so that you're ready later for when you want to ask them for anything that comes up. Third, have you identified what their position is on the situation that you're trying to persuade them on? Do you know how they feel? Have you asked them enough questions? And again…
