- When you were a sole contributor, you were responsible for your technical contributions to the team. Hopefully, you were tasked with doing no more than one person could comfortably produce. But as a manager, you're going to be called upon to help deliver solutions to technical problems that are larger and more complex than a single person could hope to solve. But that's okay. It's all okay. You have a team. In the same way say that a single player couldn't be expected to play all the positions in a baseball game. A single techie can't hope to solve some larger complex problems. Let's think of the managers role in approaching these large technical challenges as a coach working with their team.
