Assessing an organization's readiness for change

- As a leader of change, you might be ready to dive in, execute, and move your organization forward. But that doesn't mean your organization is ready. Whoa, so how do you know if they are? By assessing three things, the skill, the will, and the hill. I'll explain. First, the skill. It's critical to understand the organization's skill level and what new knowledge and skills must be developed to thrive in the desired future state. Plans should then be made to fill any gaps between where the organization is skill-wise, and what's needed in the future. One client of mine went through a huge change in their work process, they formally mapped out all the current skills required for every job they had.
