- The last bit of negotiating over a project is the nibble. And this is massive in project management. Possibly the biggest problem you get is changes in the spec. And the nibble happens really at two places, at the beginning and then during the project. So at the very beginning, when you're agreeing the project, you've got to be really careful about the nibble. So if they say something like, let's leave that till we know a bit more, that should really ring bells. Or we'll worry about that when we get there. Or if they say, oh, by the way, you can do the testing or the commissioning or the training as well, can't you? That should ring big alarm bells. And the answer of course to that is, well, yes I can, but it's going to cost time and money. You know, you want to add those extra things, and I think we should do them and I love the idea of doing those, but they will cost some extra time and some extra money. So look out for…
