- Now, suppose that you want to persuade somebody to do something. Maybe it's at work. Maybe it's with your boss or your colleagues at work. Maybe it's in your personal life, persuading your friends to eat in the restaurant that you want to eat in or to see the film that you want to see. Wouldn't it be great if there was a process you could always follow? And there is. And that's what we're going to look at in this section now. And I think it would be interesting if you could hold in your mind a real influencing situation that you have. Maybe you're trying to persuade your boss to give you a pay raise or trying to persuade your boss to let you do some different parts of your job, get more into visiting customers or something like that. Or maybe it's a friend of yours and you're trying to persuade them to give up smoking or something. It could be anything like that. But have a situation in your mind. And as I go…
