- Lesson one, being on your spine. (gentle music) If you're not in a place where you can move around with moderate comfort take a moment and situate so you can stand with me. The way to first begin is to bring an awareness to where your spine resides in space. Perhaps you don't often think about this. I certainly didn't before my theater training. Our spine actually begins all the way at the base of our tailbone, and it extends all the way up in between our eyes. This is what we all our neck spine. Especially in today's technological age we're not particularly kind to our neck spine often. Texting, at our computer. But when in front of an audience, it's important to bring your awareness to how you're holding your head and how it's affecting your spine overall. The concept of being on your spine begins with an awareness of where you're placing your feet.
