- It's important to do what you're expected to do, right, that's obvious. Businesses understand that if you want to keep customers you want to keep them satisfied. Shouldn't you do the same in your career, perhaps not. Jeffrey Gitomer authored an excellent book called Customer Satisfaction is Worthless, Customer Loyalty is Priceless. In it he discusses how satisfaction is the minimum acceptable standard and does little to inspire loyalty.
