- They say that an audience will stand by and watch you fail, but a community will jump in and help you succeed. Including all generations in community building strategies reduces age bias, builds trust, and creates greater overall team cohesion. Here are three areas where a cross-generational approach can help build, strengthen, and maintain that community. Inspire your team through service projects. Supporting worthwhile causes is a great way to feel good about doing good, but make sure the process is inclusive and mindfully managed. When you look at the aggregate of service projects over the course of a year, you'll want to see a balance that serves causes supported by younger, mid-career, and older employees.
